We're partnering with a great client to find an exceptional Service Delivery Manager / Project Manager with a strong focus on core banking applications. This is a permanent position, ideally based in Adelaide, with Sydney being also a consideration if the right skills are there.

About the Role
This critical role will see you acting as the Service Delivery Manager for a core banking application for a major Australian bank. You will be instrumental in managing internal and external stakeholders, leading a dedicated technical project team, and navigating multiple workstreams within a significant transformation program.

Your focus will be on ensuring the seamless BAU delivery of software products and SLAs, meeting key delivery dates and customer expectations for business projects, and achieving successful outcomes for the transformation program within agreed timeframes, budget, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
As the Service Delivery Manager, you will:
  • Provide project management and service delivery for a major client.
  • Manage 2-3 direct reports and lead a team of approximately 45, including onshore and offshore resources.
  • Coordinate and triage incoming work requests, manage estimations, and assign resources effectively.
  • Create and manage comprehensive project schedules.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement robust risk management strategies.
  • Develop and present regular status reports.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, demonstrating an understanding of their competing priorities.
  • Oversee resources, project outcomes, and BAU personnel to ensure all SLAs are met.
  • Manage project resources from initial scoping through to testing and implementation phases.
  • Complete all necessary project shutdown activities.
What You'll Bring
Our client is looking for a highly experienced professional with:
  • 5-8 years of Service Delivery Management, Program, or Project Management experience, with a strong preference for Service Delivery Management (SDM) expertise.
  • A proven track record of running a Managed Services agenda, demonstrating a deep understanding of run, change, and applications. (Please note: infrastructure experience will not be considered). 
  • Experience working directly for a company or from a consultancy/managed service business supporting an end customer.
  • Solid application management experience.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
  • A demonstrated history of successfully delivering projects.
  • Strong people and team leadership capabilities.
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple project assignments simultaneously.
  • Outstanding leadership, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • A disciplined and organized approach to your work.
  • Eagerness to learn, strong initiative, and flexibility.
  • A desire to teach and share your skills with team members.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • 5-10 years of project management experience within the Banking and Finance Domain.
  • Prior experience with Core Banking systems.
  • Solid knowledge of the banking and finance industry.
  • Experience with Hogan delivery projects.
  • Experience in Banking Transformation.
