About the Role
We’re looking for a highly experienced Release and Implementation Manager to lead the release strategy for a large, multi-stream program. You’ll coordinate closely with cross-functional teams, manage release schedules, mitigate risks, and ensure smooth, successful deployments across complex environments. This role requires someone who can bring structure, clarity, and strong governance to fast-moving delivery teams.
Insurance industry experience is strongly preferred, and experience with Duck Creek or Guidewire will be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate release activities across multiple teams
• Align releases with program timelines and business objectives
• Manage releases end-to-end, from preparation through to delivery
• Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies
• Create and maintain release strategies, checklists, runbooks, and implementation plans
• Develop and execute rollback strategies
• Lead Go-Live and deployment activities
• Coordinate environments, configurations, and test data with development and testing teams
• Implement and manage release processes across dev, test, and production
• Establish branching and merging strategies across multiple streams
• Maintain release
repositories, documentation, dependencies, and notifications
• Drive continuous improvement of release processes and governance
• Create RFCs and represent the program in CAB meetings
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, regulatory standards, and best practices
• Communicate release schedules, dependencies, and impacts to stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
• 10+ years industry experience
• Minimum 5 years as a Release Manager or in a similar role
• Proven experience managing releases across large, complex programs
• Insurance industry background highly desirable
• Experience with Duck Creek or Guidewire strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab CI
• Solid experience with code branching, merging, and deployment strategies
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Ability to juggle multiple streams and competing priorities
• Experience creating implementation plans and driving process improvement
• Analytical, structured, and delivery-focused
• Comfortable working in Agile environments and strong understanding of SDLC
Nice to Have
• Experience with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Strong knowledge of Git or SVN
• ITIL Foundation certification
• Experience with PM tools
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
