The Opportunity

I am looking for an IT Operations Team Leader for one of my Insurance clients. This is a key role for a technical professional who is ready to step into a leadership position that balances high-level oversight with hands-on infrastructure management.
You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of my client’s technology environment while mentoring a dedicated team of specialists to deliver their best work.

The Role

The IT Operations Team Leader acts as a bridge between the technical team and business leadership. You will oversee the delivery of IT services and drive the continuous improvement of my client's cloud and on-premise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • People Leadership: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including Cloud and Network Engineers, DBAs, and Support Analysts.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Take ownership of the Microsoft Azure environment, along with platforms like Genesys and Atlassian Cloud.
  • System Availability: Design and implement processes that ensure high availability and robust disaster recovery (BCP) protocols.
  • Project Delivery: Lead infrastructure projects from scoping and design through to testing and implementation.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Act as a primary escalation point for technical issues and maintain strong relationships with external service providers and internal business leaders.
  • Security & Standards: Implement secure configurations and maintain technical documentation to ensure a highly secure and optimized environment.
Candidate Profile

My client is looking for a proactive leader who combines technical depth with excellent communication skills. You should be someone who enjoys problem-solving and can adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience as an IT Specialist, with at least 1–2 years in a team leadership or supervisory role.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced skills in Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and Hyper-V.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience administering Azure Cloud Services.
  • Education: A strong background in Microsoft administration and formal management training or qualifications.
Highly Regarded:
  • ITIL, MCSE/MCSA, or Project Management certifications.
  • Experience within health insurance or membership-based organizations.
  • A background in task automation and scripting.
