Job Description
Role: Infrastructure Team Lead
We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Team Lead to steady the ship and provide short-term leadership across our core infrastructure environment. This role focuses on bringing structure, clarity, and accountability to the team while ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and mentor a small team supporting our on-prem infrastructure environment.
- Provide technical oversight across data centre operations, virtualisation (VMware/ESXi), storage, servers, and networking.
- Bring discipline to operational processes including incident management, change management, documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Work closely with IT leadership to ensure priorities, workloads and SLAs are clearly defined and tracked.
- Re-baseline key initiatives, clear bottlenecks and provide delivery assurance where needed.
- Reduce single points of failure by supporting capability uplift and cross-skilling within the team.
- Oversee vendor coordination, maintenance schedules, upgrades and troubleshooting support.
- Ensure environments remain stable, secure and compliant with existing standards.
What You Bring
- Strong people leadership ability, setting expectations, building trust, coaching, and driving accountability.
- Solid background in infrastructure operations across data centre, virtualisation, storage, servers and networks.
- Experience bringing structure to environments that need clearer processes, documentation and operational rhythm.
- Ability to quickly assess workloads, identify risks, and implement practical plans to stabilise delivery.
- Experience working with ITIL service management processes.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders across IT and the business.
