About the Role
We are seeking a proactive HSEQ Lead to partner closely with the Plant Manager at Preston and the Group Head of HSEQ to lead and implement robust Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality policies and procedures. You will be pivotal in driving zero harm objectives, maintaining ISO certifications, managing safety systems, and developing comprehensive training programs. This role includes managing the site’s Return to Work program and mentoring a direct report – the HSEQ Assurance Officer.
This is a hands-on leadership position with a strong focus on continuous improvement, compliance, and cultivating a culture of safety and quality excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate health, safety, environmental, and quality initiatives aligned with NCI’s vision of zero harm
  • Investigate incidents, manage hazard identification, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness
  • Manage site compliance including first aid registers, training, and return to work coordination
  • Maintain ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment) certifications and manage audit programs
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employee compliance and awareness
  • Mentor and conduct performance reviews for the HSEQ Assurance Officer
  • Monitor and report on safety, environmental, and quality KPIs
  • Engage with employees, regulators, and leadership to drive continuous improvements
  • Travel locally and interstate as required to support other sites
Key Requirements
  • Cert IV qualifications in Health and Safety Management, Quality Assurance, and Training & Assessment
  • Lead Auditor certification in Health, Safety, Food Safety, and Environment
  • Strong knowledge of safety risk assessments, relevant legislation (EPA, Worksafe), and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation management
  • Skilled in incident investigations, Return to Work coordination, and safety system management
  • Computer literate with strong MS Office skills
  • Excellent communication, influencing, presentation, and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated empathy and teamwork in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Must have full Work Rights and willing to undergo an Australian
    Police Check
