Development Team Lead

Role Overview

The Development Team Lead will be responsible for aligning software development initiatives with business objectives, overseeing the entire development lifecycle, and implementing strategies to improve processes and product quality. The successful candidate will manage and mentor a team of developers, maintain effective stakeholder collaboration, and remain hands-on with coding within an agile team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from planning and requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance, utilising DevOps patterns.
• Lead, mentor, and support a team of developers to ensure their ongoing professional growth and success.
• Actively participate in coding, contributing to the delivery of functional and technical solutions.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance development processes, product quality, and technology adoption.
• Collaborate with departments such as Product, Marketing, and Finance to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Design and enforce best practices for coding, automated testing, and deployment.
• Identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction with delivered solutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong hands-on expertise in the following technology stack:
  • Angular
  • Typescript
  • C#
  • .NET Core
  • SQL Server (T-SQL)
  • Azure functions, app services, and other cloud resources
• Significant experience in software development, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
• Experience in the banking or lending industry (highly regarded).
• Solid background in Agile environments, including running Agile ceremonies.
• Demonstrated success in implementing best practices for coding, automated testing, and deployment.
• Proven ability to collaborate with and influence senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Experience in leading or growing a team of software developers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, planning, organisational, and time management abilities.
