What You Will Do
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to gather comprehensive requirements that underpin the creation of data assets, data science features and reporting solutions
- Analyse source systems, existing reports, automation opportunities and identify overlapping concepts and attributes to build optimal solutions in Tableau that meet business requirements
- Conduct impact assessments and root cause analysis to identify and troubleshoot data issues, perform rigorous testing and data reconciliation
- Create and maintain technical specification documents such as business requirements documentation, report functional specifications, data transformation, source to target mappings, data dictionary etc
- Liaise with solutions architects, data scientists, data analysts and engineers to ensure solutions are of a high standard and meet the needs of our stakeholders
- Support backlog grooming and requirement refinement sessions, and play an active role in scoping new projects while prioritising projects on the CDAO’s roadmap
- Lead in uplifting the business in self-service data capabilities
- Excellent SQL knowledge and practical experience of data exploration, data quality analysis, testing and data reconciliation
- Knowledge of ERD, Data Modelling and Data Warehouse principals
- In-depth experience working as a Business Analyst in the data and analytics field to deliver insightful analysis and reporting solutions;
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to support negotiation, conflict resolution and prioritization discussions
- Experience gathering requirements and challenging existing ways of thinking to identify the most efficient method of design. Adept at documenting functional and non-functional requirements in a data landscape
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and demonstrated experience in working independently or in a team and handling tasks with analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage with competing priorities; High attention to detail and well organised
- Experience participating in SCRUM-Agile based teams
- Degree commercial, analytical, mathematical discipline, ITIL, ITSM certification or equivalent experience
- Experience with one or more analysis tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlilk, Looker, Cognos, SSRS or equivalent
- Knowledge of ETL process and tools (Snowflake, Databricks, ADF, Informatica, Talend, Alteryx)
- Knowledge of Data Governance concepts including Privacy and Security considerations
- Experience with visualization storytelling and using data to support business decisions
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies, such as AWS, GCP or Microsoft Azure
- Previous experience in financial, Superannuation services or asset management would be highly regarded
