Human Resources Coordinator (HR & WHS Focus)

Location: Sydney Olympic Park (occasional travel to Lidcombe)
Package: $99,000 + Super
Type: Permanent | Full-Time Onsite

Are you an HR professional who loves operational generalist work but brings a strong, hands-on focus to Work Health & Safety (WHS) and injury management?

We are partnering with a well-established Non for Profit organisation to recruit a permanent Human Resources Coordinator to join their team. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this broad, dynamic role blends end-to-end HR operations with active leadership across workplace safety, return-to-work planning, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • WHS & Injury Management: Coordinate workplace incident reporting, investigations, hazard identification, and risk assessments. Manage early intervention strategies, workers' compensation claims, and Return-to-Work (RTW) planning.
  • Compliance & Training: Track and monitor employee licenses, tickets, and mandatory qualifications. Coordinate WHS, First Aid, and safety training across the workforce.
  • HR Operations: Serve as the first point of contact for employee enquiries, assist with end-to-end recruitment, onboard new starters, support performance/probation management, and draft employment documentation.
  • Systems & Reporting: Maintain accurate HRIS, WHS, and compliance records; assist with internal/external audits; and generate reporting for leadership.
  • Culture & Policy: Support employee wellbeing initiatives, contribute to policy reviews, and assist with broader HR and organizational projects.

What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Advisor, or similar broad operational role.
  • Proven WHS & Injury Management experience: Hands-on background with workers' compensation processes, incident investigations, and return-to-work coordination is essential.
  • Compliance Savvy: Solid understanding of WHS legislation, HR administration, modern Awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Tech & Systems Literate: Prior experience utilizing HRIS, compliance, or incident-management systems.
  • Strong Communicator: Outstanding organization, attention to detail, and the ability to build trust across all levels of the business while handling sensitive information discreetly.

Highly Regarded
  • Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator certification
  • WHS Qualifications (Certificate IV or higher)
  • Current First Aid / CPR certifications

Why Apply?
If you want to move beyond basic HR administration and take real ownership of a combined HR & Safety portfolio, this is the ideal next step for your career.

You’ll gain high-visibility exposure across HR operations, workers' comp, employee wellbeing, and compliance within a supportive team environment.
