Are you a hands on WHS professional who enjoys getting out on site, solving real problems and making safety practical, not painful?  Industrious People is looking for a WHS & Risk Management Specialist to join our growing team and play a key role across our labour hire workforce, client sites and internal operations.  This is not a “sit behind a desk and tick boxes” safety role. You will be out with clients, supporting our consultants, managing incidents, improving return to work outcomes and helping us continue to lift the standard across safety, compliance and risk.

Reporting to the Director, Industrious People, the WHS & Risk Management Specialist will be responsible for driving proactive safety, compliance and risk management practices across our client sites and temporary workforce placements.

You will act as the key WHS contact for Industrious People, providing clear advice, practical support and hands on guidance to both internal teams and external clients.

Your role will include:

• Conducting WHS site inspections, risk assessments and safety audits
• Reviewing client site requirements and identifying potential workplace risks
• Supporting consultants with practical WHS advice and clear safety frameworks
• Delivering toolbox talks, safety briefings and site specific WHS guidance
• Managing workplace incidents from initial report through to resolution
• Leading incident investigations and ensuring preventative actions are followed through
• Liaising with workers, clients, insurers, brokers, medical providers and payroll
• Managing return to work and suitable duties programs
• Supporting injured workers with a focus on early intervention and positive outcomes
• Maintaining accurate WHS, incident, medical and compliance records
• Helping improve systems, processes and safety standards across the business

You will ideally bring:

• Experience in a WHS, safety, injury management or risk role
• Background in labour hire, construction, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, transport or industrial environments
• Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience managing incidents, investigations and return to work processes
• Confidence conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments
• Ability to deliver WHS training, inductions or toolbox talks
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• High attention to detail with documentation, systems and compliance records
• Cert IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites
