Delivery Lead – Data Migration & Governance (Cloud Transformation)

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Delivery Lead to spearhead the "Foundational Phase" of a multi-year data transformation for a leading Financial Services institution. This is a "Day 0" engagement where you will be responsible for scoping, structuring, and proving the delivery approach for a data migration program scheduled for next year.
This role sits at the intersection of high-level program strategy and modern data engineering. You will lead the initial Proof of Concept (POC) and ensure that enterprise-grade Data Governance is baked into the architecture from the start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Shaping: Architect the roadmap, workstreams, and resource requirements for a 2027 migration program.
  • POC Leadership: Drive the execution of a technical Proof of Concept to validate migration patterns within an AWS serverless environment.
  • Governance Integration: Work with Data Owners to establish Data Quality, Lineage, and Governance frameworks (CDEs) ahead of the migration.
  • Stakeholder Orchestration: Act as the bridge between technical engineering teams (Redshift, DBT, Airflow) and Senior Executive stakeholders.
  • Foundational Readiness: Coordinate all "pre-flight" activities, including environment setup and legacy system (DB2) discovery.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Proven Delivery Record: Extensive experience leading large-scale Data Migrations or Cloud Transformations within complex, regulated environments (Tier-1 Banking or Insurance preferred).
  • Governance Expertise: Strong understanding of Data Product concepts and Data Governance frameworks.
  • Modern Data Stack Knowledge: While this is a delivery role, you must be fluent in:
    • AWS: Serverless environments and Redshift.
    • Data Tooling: DBT Core and Airflow (Self-managed).
    • Legacy Systems: Familiarity with DB2 or similar cloud-hosted legacy databases.
  • Strategic Mindset: Experience in "Greenfield" or "Discovery" phases—moving a program from a business case to a structured delivery engine.
