Job Title: SolidWorks Designer
Location: Sydney
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 + super
Type: Permanent Full Time

About the Role

We are seeking a talented SolidWorks Designer to join a high-performing design team working on modular and prefabricated product solutions in Sydney. This role is responsible for producing accurate 3D models, detailed fabrication drawings, and complete manufacturing documentation to support efficient project delivery.

You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and site teams to ensure all designs are practical, compliant, and ready for production. 

Must be an Australian Citizen (NV1 clearance eligibility required)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality 3D assemblies and detailed 2D fabrication drawings using SolidWorks
• Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs), cut lists, flat patterns, and CNC-ready files
• Ensure all designs are accurate, compliant with standards, and production-ready
• Manage drawing revisions and documentation through SolidWorks PDM
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve design, fabrication, and installation challenges
• Contribute to continuous improvement, standardisation, and design efficiency

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years experience in SolidWorks design or fabrication drafting
• Strong understanding of sheet metal, weldments, and manufacturing processes
• Experience producing BOMs, DXFs, and CNC-ready outputs
• Familiar with SolidWorks PDM and document control workflows
• Knowledge of Australian Standards (AS 1100, AS/NZS 4100, AS/NZS 1554 highly regarded)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Must be an Australian Citizen (NV1 clearance eligibility required)

Qualifications

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field
• SolidWorks certification (CSWP) is advantageous
