Role: Quality Assurance Assessor
Location: Melbourne
Type: Full time Day and Afternoon shift avaliable
Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 plus super (Extra loading for afternoon shift)
Our client is a leading advanced manufacturing business operating within the defence industry, delivering high-precision components for critical applications. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Assessor to join their Melbourne-based production team.
About the Role
As a QA Assessor, you will be responsible for assuring consistent production quality and inspecting outsourced and in-house mechanical items. You will ensure first-off compliance against CAD models and drawings, maintain strict Quality Management System (QMS) standards, and contribute to a safety-focused, high-performance production culture.

About the Role
As a QA Assessor, you will be responsible for assuring consistent production quality and inspecting outsourced and in-house mechanical items. You will ensure first-off compliance against CAD models and drawings, maintain strict Quality Management System (QMS) standards, and contribute to a safety-focused, high-performance production culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Create In-process Inspection Plans (IPC) for mechanical items produced in-house
- Conduct first-off and periodic inspections of mechanical items, checking conformity against drawings and CAD models, and uploading results to work orders
- Operate Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Measuring Arms, running comparisons with solid CAD models
- Review and escalate non-conformance reports and concessions
- Load Horizontal and Vertical Machine centres and provide value-adding to machined parts, including Metal Finishing
- Package and dispatch goods produced in-house
- Ensure Quality Management System obligations are met and champion a strong quality culture
- Coordinate timelines safely and effectively given competing priorities in a dynamic operating environment
- Minimum Certificate III in Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years post-trade experience
- Experience in Mechanical assembly, producing prototypes, and 3D modelling (SolidWorks preferred)
- Competent in the use of Manual Machining, working with Aluminium, Fitting and Fabrication, and Measuring tools at an Advanced level
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) at a Basic level
- Attention to detail, ability to maintain focus, and sound coordination skills
- Current Drivers Licence and Overhead Crane Chaser Licence required
- Australian Citizen (Required to be eligible for a Baseline AGSVA Security Clearance and ITAR access)
