Job Description
Our client is a leading advanced manufacturing business operating within the defence industry, delivering high-precision components for critical applications. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer Setters to join their Carrum Downs-based production team.
Multiple positions are available across morning and afternoon shifts.

You will ensure first-off compliance, maintain strict quality standards, and contribute to a safety-focused, high-performance production team.

Shift Times
- Morning Shift: 6am – 2pm
- Afternoon Shift: 2pm – 10pm (includes shift loading when working afternoons)
You will ensure first-off compliance, maintain strict quality standards, and contribute to a safety-focused, high-performance production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software and edit programs as required
- Set up tooling and machines using SolidCAM tool library data
- Build complex fixture assemblies using SolidWorks drawings and specifications
- Operate CNC machines and monitor toolpaths, ensuring compliant first-off parts
- Inspect and measure in-process and finished components against specifications
- Perform daily machine checks to maintain performance and reliability
- Work closely with shift supervisors during handovers
- Operate within defence industry quality, WHS, and compliance standards
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement and safety culture
- General workshop and administrative duties as required
- Minimum 2-5 years post-trade CNC machining experience OR Certificate IV in Engineering (CNC)
- Experience in defence, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing highly regarded
- Strong CAD/CAM capability (SolidWorks and SolidCAM preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience across CNC machining, manual machining, fitting, and fabrication
- Australian Citizen (required for Baseline AGSVA Security Clearance)
- Current First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
