Job Description

Role: Operations Manager 
Location: Camden area, Southwest Sydney, NSW
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $160,000 – $170,000 + Super 

About the Role
  • Oversee site operations in a high-volume food manufacturing environment
  • Report directly to the Site Manager, taking full ownership of operational performance
  • Optimise results across safety, quality, service, and cost metrics
  • Execute production schedules efficiently, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and uphold strict food safety standards
  • Lead continuous improvement projects and support automation advancements
  • Develop, mentor, and inspire a high-performing operations team
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day production and site operations
  • Deliver KPIs and service levels
  • Ensure full compliance with WHS, HACCP and GMP standards
  • Drive initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste
  • Partner with Engineering to maximise plant uptime and right-first-time performance
  • Develop, coach and mentor production leaders and frontline teams
  • Manage labour planning, workforce performance and engagement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Technical, Logistics and Supply Chain
  • Lead change management and process improvement projects
  • Manage union and key stakeholder relationships where required
Skills & Experience
  • Senior leadership experience within FMCG, food production or manufacturing
  • Proven track record of driving operational and cultural improvement
  • Demonstrated experience improving operational performance, increasing efficiency and delivering measurable business results
  • Experience managing budgets and delivering cost and margin improvement
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and WHS legislation
  • Experience with WMS, TMS and operational reporting systems
  • Relevant degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or Supply Chain (highly desirable)
  • Strong commercial leadership capability with proven experience running and leading performing teams
