Mechanical Fitter

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy manufacturing environment specialising in plastic electrical components and switchgear. This is a hands-on role supporting both production and maintenance across a range of machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plastic injection moulding machines (including Engel and Arburg)
  • Support assembly and automated production equipment
  • Maintain and repair John Heine presses, brake presses, and turret punch machines
  • Diagnose faults across pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Assist with machine changeovers, installations, and upgrades
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Work closely with production teams to meet targets
  • Follow all WHS and safety procedures
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in manufacturing
  • Experience with injection moulding machinery (Engel, Arburg highly regarded)
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with press and sheet metal machinery
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
